Details of symptoms can be helpful to tell your doctor later so that you can work together on a treatment plan or in preventing future migraines. Take note also of whether visual changes are happening in just one eye or in both eyes and at what time the symptoms began. Take note of what you were doing before the symptoms started, in case you’ve encountered a migraine trigger. Look for whether your visual symptoms are mostly blind spots or flashes of light, or if you’re seeing floaters that aren’t going away. What to do if you think you’re experiencing an ocular migraine or migraine with aura And although retinal detachments are rare, they can cause blindness, so it’s important to see your primary care provider or an eye doctor after experiencing these symptoms so that treatment can begin quickly if needed. We can’t rule out the possibility of retinal detachment without a dilated eye exam, especially if you’ve never had a migraine with visual symptoms before. People experiencing retinal detachment might see color changes or black curtains over their vision, and these symptoms usually last much longer than the 30 minutes most typical with migraines. In retinal detachment, a layer of tissue at the back of the eye (the retina) pulls away from the other tissues in its normal position.Ĭlassic signs of retinal detachment are flashes of light and “floaters.” Flashes can come and go, but typically floaters remain. Retinal detachment is another serious condition that can have some similar symptoms to ocular migraine or migraine with aura. If there’s slurred speech, muscle weakness or other neurological signs along with the vision changes, that could signal something more serious, such as a stroke. Migraine with aura will often have a headache come afterward. Visual disturbances with migraine usually last between five minutes and an hour, with 20-30 minutes being what I hear most often from patients. Typically, there are a few things to look for that tell me a patient has experienced an ocular migraine or a migraine with aura. Is it a stroke, migraine or retinal detachment? The visual migraine could be caused by spasms in blood vessels - constricting and re-dilating - or because of certain chemical changes in the brain, coming in waves. The pathway physiology or reason you get a migraine in the first place can be complex, and triggers can include any number of environmental or hormonal factors, such as allergies, certain foods, lack of sleep, dehydration, alcohol, smoking, oral contraceptives, etc. What’s happening in the eyes or brain during an ocular migraine? They can look like zigzag rings or half-circles of flashing rainbow colors that change size. These vision changes can look like flashes of light, zigzag patterns, rainbow or shimmering spots or stars, or even blind spots. In a migraine with aura, the headache usually shows up after you experience visual symptoms. “Migraine with aura” often refers to a headache accompanied by a wave of brain activity that most often causes visual disturbances, but can also cause auditory or olfactory (smell-based) symptoms. What is an ocular migraine?Īn ocular migraine is what we call certain visual disturbances that can occur with or without a headache. The good news is that, while they can be a scary experience at first, these migraines don’t seem to cause damage to the eye. Some people might wonder if what they’re feeling and seeing is a stroke or retinal detachment. The first time you experience an ocular migraine or a migraine with aura, it can be jarring.

With a brief history of the Chevy El Camino accounted for, let’s talk about the car/truck itself. First Generation Chevrolet El Camino (1959-1960) Ultimately, the El Camino had more staying power than the Ford Ranchero, which ceased production eight years before the last El Camino rolled off of the assembly line. The El Camino wouldn’t be elevated to the truly legendary status that it enjoys today until later generations were released. The first-generation El Camino retained classic 1950s Chevrolet styling, including tailfins, which were a big selling point of the El Camino over the Ranchero. Like the latter, the El Camino was built on an existing Chevrolet station wagon chassis and converted to have a bed in the rear. The 1959 El Camino was the result of Chevrolet’s rushed response to the Ranchero. As a result, GM jumped on the ute platform and immediately got to work on their own coupe utility vehicle. Regardless, the Ranchero sold like hotcakes. The Ranchero filled a niche that manufacturers thought existed but didn’t know for sure. The Ford Ranchero proved to be a massive hit and was popular with the automotive press and buyers alike. This would also be the formula used by the El Camino in the following years. The Ranchero was built on a full-sized coupe station wagon platform that was later adapted to feature a truck bed. Ford revived their pre-war niche Australian ute creation and made it available for an American audience in 1957, which marked the first time that a mass-produced coupe utility vehicle was available in the U.S. Both manufacturers had very important and well-selling models at the time, including the Ford Model A and the Chevrolet AD Series Universal, and were trying to innovate to gain market dominance in new and unexplored areas. In the 1930s, and far after that, Ford and Chevrolet were embroiled in a battle for supremacy in the American car market. We’ll cover the El Camino’s specs throughout the years and its overall history which turned it into one of the most well-known American cars ever made. In this guide, we cover the famous El Camino, complete with all of its odd and charming characteristics. It would be a while before the El Camino was a commercial success too, with the Ranchero outselling the El Camino by a significant margin until the El Camino’s second and third generations. The El Camino came much further down the line and was really just an attempt to encroach on the unique market that Ford had created with the Ranchero. While Ford’s Utility Coupe is widely considered the first production ute, there were examples of the car/truck formula earlier than that, just not in full production. That changed in the mid-1930s, when Ford Australia built the first production “ute,” which combined the small form factor of a coupe with the read bed of a pickup truck. Cars were made for driving and trucks were meant for trucking. At that time, cars were designed for an explicit purpose and typically only worked for that specific purpose. In the early 1930s, cars were only starting to become good and properly usable. A copy that got more popular than the original. In fact, the El Camino is a bit of a fluke. The funny thing is that the Chevy El Camino wasn’t an American idea, despite it becoming a cultural icon. Tucked somewhere near the top is the Chevrolet El Camino. That list would start with the Corvette and end with the Ford Raptor. There is an unquestionable short list of unique American cars. One example is Daimler, which uses Seegrid VGVs to optimise its parts-to-line application, cutting waiting time for parts by 22% and transportation time for parts-to-line by 50%.Īlthough coy about the details, Weiss also reveals that an automotive customer located in the UK uses a fleet of VGVs to transport body panels from the stamping press to storage locations located over 1km from the press. Once training is complete, the VGV is ready to transport pallets, carts, trains and totes around the clock.Īccording to Mitchell Weiss, chief technology officer at Seegrid, the company's VGVs are used by a variety of leading automotive manufacturers. A Seegrid VGV can be "trained" and managed by in-house staff simply walking or driving the device through its desired route, where it captures camera images of the facility and builds a 3D map for route navigation. Route navigationAnother company that is heavily involved in the provision and application of AGVs is US company Seegrid, which has developed an infrastructure-free VGV – which does not require infrastructure such as wires, lasers, magnets, or tape – to help in improving safety, cutting labour costs and improving throughput productivity in manufacturing facilities. These pilots are aimed at exploiting the advantages of new technologies such as microprocessing, low-cost sensors and Big Data analytics in order to develop new robotics applications," says Tlatli. "DHL is also currently involved in various pilot projects together with its business partners. Although he believes their use usually brings "clear performance improvements" across the board, he claims they are especially good at performing in certain specific areas: the repetitive movement of materials over a distance the regular delivery of stable loads processes where tracking material is important and when on-time delivery is critical and late deliveries are causing inefficiency. They have very diverse forms and functions – with some manufacturers also producing automated guided carts (AGCs) or vision-guided vehicles (VGVs) – but they tend to converge in their ability to carry goods autonomously along pre-defined or dynamic routes.ĪGV systems help to limit heavy goods handling by operators and to ensure a safer environmentĪGV systems are increasingly used in facilities such as manufacturing operations and parts distribution centres where, among other things, they help to limit heavy goods handling by operators and to ensure a safer environment. One heavy user of AGV systems is DHL, which has AGVs in its vehicle assembly facilities to better manage line-feeding activities including the just-in-time (JIT) transportation of parts from plant inventory to assembly line.Īs Fathi Tlatli, international manager at DHL Customer Solutions and Innovation, explains, the chief purpose of AGVs in a manufacturing environment is to focus on JIT replenishment of the lineside. According to Tlatli, DHL has already worked with several automotive OEMs in implementing and developing AGV solutions. Line feedingAGVs are operator-less transport systems that are frequently used to move large loads and trailing loads with a low-to-medium throughput over short-to-medium distances. So, what types of automotive manufacturing applications can AGVs be used for? What are the main advantages and challenges of using them? And what are likely to be the key innovations and trends in the use of AGVs for automotive manufacturing applications over the next few years? Historically, the automotive industry has relied heavily on the use of robotic technologies for pure manufacturing operations like assembly, welding and stamping, but in recent years other applications such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) have become more popular in production facilities.ĪGVs are typically forklift-sized wheeled carts that use software to help in navigating their movements around manufacturing plants and assembly facilities, often with the assistance of magnetic strips or lasers. The main point is: stop updating it to make it easier to unlock things. Also the giant demon monkey can run on thin air. It just breaks the flow of the game in my opinion. The updates also make me have to repeatedly tap all these chests to play again after getting stopped. Also the default map in summer is Frozen Shadows which shouldn't be the case, and we should have the option to default it to Sky Summit or something on older hardware. When I first played the game it was rare that I'd find a gem and chests were practically impossible to come across, and all these tokens of Indian people don't make any sense. It can still run on my iPad 2 (not sure about 3) after the initial loading screen (on Sky Summit I have experienced lag issues on the seasonal ones lately), which is a good sign that the developers are considerate enough to acknowledge compatibility, but the updates have made gems and chests too common. It's a solid game, I'll give it that, but these updates and events have made everything cluttered. I am carrying on playing this game and hope to see more updates in the future. Seen as you don’t need WiFi or data to play it, it’s a good game to play in the car for example. Overall, I really rate this game and would recommend it. Like, the difference in seasons to match the day to day seasons are great and quite accurate but when your playing the game, there isn’t much difference as the one before the update. The only reason why I haven’t rated it five stars is that every time there is a seasonal update, the gameplay doesn’t vary that much. I like the modern set up of it and I like how they’ve done that. The reason is, is that I love playing this game. So, I rated Temple Run 2: four stars out of five. When I downloaded it, it gave me some nostalgia to when I played it with my sister and I liked that. Today though I have re downloaded it and I loved the modern set up and it is completely different to what it was like when me and my sister played it on our iPads. I then deleted it because there was maybe more modern games to play. We went on to play it on your phones when we was a bit older. I remember how exited we was when the second of came out and we downloaded straight away, and because it was new and fresh we throughly enjoyed when we was playing. We used to always play the first Temple Run which we loved. I remember me and my sister playing on our iPads. I used to play this game as a young child.
